Neil --
For what it's worth: the Supreme Court of Canada currently contains 4 women (Abella, Charron, and Deschamps JJ, and McLachlin CJ) out of 9 Justices. If I did the math correctly that works out to roughly 44%; 3 out of 7 to roughly 42%. So in this, at least, the Supreme Court of Canada would seem to be ahead of the Commonwealth curve.

As a matter of interest, the High Court will, at that stage, contain 3 women out of the 7 Justices: is there a higher percentage of women in any other final court of appeal around the Commonwealth world?
